For a first quote discussion, send your city, clear photos, approximate width and height, and the main reason for each shutter. Final manufacturing sizes need a confirmed measurement process.
Before requesting a quote
- City and property type.
- Opening labels, photos and approximate dimensions with units.
- Main goal: security, shade, privacy or access.
- Controls, power, mounting and installation responsibilities.
- Any required approvals or special access arrangements.
The photo set that makes an enquiry useful
Take one straight-on photograph of each complete opening and a wider view of the wall around it. Include the space above, both sides, the sill or threshold and any projecting handles, lights or vents. An inside view can help explain access and normal use. Label openings consistently, such as rear patio door or kitchen window, so the photos match your measurements.
Use rough dimensions for discussion, not manufacture
Record approximate width and height and state what you measured: glass, frame or wall opening. Keep the units consistent and avoid subtracting assumed clearances. A supplier needs to confirm the measurement reference for the selected system. If you have drawings, provide them with photos of the current condition rather than assuming construction exactly matches the plans.
What changes the price?
The size and number of openings are only part of the scope. Curtain and guide selection, box placement, finish, manual or motorized controls, site access and preparation can change the work. Concealed installations may involve construction and finishing by other trades. Ask whether delivery, installation, electrical work and removal of any existing system are included. A generic per-window figure cannot capture those differences.
Review the written quote before ordering
Check that each opening has a clear description and that the chosen finish and operating method are recorded. Confirm who approves production sizes, what needs to be ready on site and how timing is established. Ask for the applicable warranty and care information for the selected products. Keep a copy of the agreed scope so any later change can be described and priced clearly.
